Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Carolina Reapers were eager to watch Rob Griffin square off against James Dobyns of the visiting San Francisco Fire. In the end, the Reapers won the game, 10-2, with Blake Benigno leading the way. Carolina reliever Josh Monroe picked up the win to move to 1-0. James Dobyns suffered the loss.

Bill Havey hit a run-scoring double off James Dobyns in the bottom of the first, which put the Reapers in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Havey had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

In postgame comments to the Carolina Bulletin, Benigno said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
