With Late Score, Scorpions Beat Fire
|
Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Mark Dailey the Syracuse Scorpions defeated the San Francisco Fire, 3-2. The second-place Scorpions have a record of 47-46.
Syracuse took a 3-2 lead on Chris Service's 23rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Service hit in the bottom of the eighth, left San Francisco pitcher Keith Hawes visibly frustrated.
"It never gets old," said Dailey. "Winning, that is."
