The Hideout was the site of a competitive game between the Fountain Hills 23ers and Chicago Gangsters.
A 4-RBI performance from Kevin Crouch helped the Chicago Gangsters beat the Fountain Hills 23ers, 5-3. The winner was Braden Shaw in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Sam Naber took the loss. Nick Slover was credited with the save for Chicago, his 3rd of the season.
In the first inning, Crouch had a grand slam home run for Chicago. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Gangsters on top, 4-0.
Chicago manager Antonio Valdez commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
The 23ers drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 2024 season.
