The Detroit Giants did just enough to secure a victory over the Tampa Bay Captains, 8-7, in 11 innings at Ahoy Park. Nobody did more than left fielder Keith Brosch. Detroit now has a record of 5-4.

Detroit used the hitting of Chris Lutz to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Giants on top, 8-7. For the game, Lutz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Detroit manager Sean O'Leary.
