Hoffman Torches Cyclones for 5 Hits Monday, May 18th , 2026 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Robby Hoffman of the Ontario Sunrays. The Ontario first baseman gave it his all and dominated Mt. Vernon Cyclones pitching at Sunrays Field, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Cyclones going home the winner, 5-3. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Hoffman said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Robby Hoffman singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season, Hoffman is hitting .264 with 7 home runs.
