Squires Connects for 3 Homers for Golden Gophers Thursday, May 14th , 2026 It was a good day for the Little Rock Golden Gophers and an exceptional one for Micah Squires. The 22-year-old center fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Golden Gophers beat the St. Joseph Mighty Mites, 11-4, at Little Rock Grounds. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Squires said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Micah Squires hit a solo-shot off Bobby Nicholson in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th. Currently Squires is hitting .333 and has collected 4 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 17 times, while playing in 26 games. |
