Santa Barbara Stops O'Neill Hit Streak
Saturday, May 9th , 2026
Dillon O'Neill saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die during the Carson City Miners win over Santa Barbara at Miners Ballpark. The 22-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Santa Barbara Super Troopers, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 8-1.
"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat O'Neill told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."
On the year, O'Neill has hit .440 with 3 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 29 runs.
