Santa Barbara Moves on to League Championship Series
Wednesday, September 18th , 2024
The Santa Barbara Super Troopers are riding high after winning the Division Series and eliminating the Sikeston Shamrocks by a series score of 4-2.
The final blow came tonight at Car Ramrod Park, when Santa Barbara secured its spot in the League Championship Series with a 3-1 victory.
"It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said second baseman Mike MacPherson, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance."
MacPherson certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .429 with a .467 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 4 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Santa Barbara Super Troopers will play against the Savannah Alpines in the next round. Savannah won their series against the Mt. Vernon Cyclones 4 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
