Kemps 5-for-6 Against Black Aces Wednesday, May 15th , 2024 Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Mike Kemps said his club's tilt with the Santa Ana Black Aces "felt almost like batting practice." The 20-year-old left fielder went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate. "I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later. However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Aurora Paints, who were topped by the Black Aces, 5-3. "It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Paints manager Orlando Salinas said. "Sometimes Mike is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose." Mike Kemps singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
