Grimm Rips 3 Homers Against Hex Sunday, May 12th , 2024 Doug Grimm was in a home run mode at Ballpark of Providence. The Tacoma right fielder massacred Hex pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 5-for-6 with 9 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Providence won the ballgame, 14-13, despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Grimm will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Doug Grimm hit a three-run home run off Ricardo Sanchez in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jacob Wigdahl in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Albert Garcia in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Grimm is currently batting .310 with 4 home runs and 13 RBIs. |
