Perez Hits in 20 Consecutive Games

The number just keeps getting higher.
Montgomery left fielder Javy Perez has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 5 at-bats as the Montgomery won the game, 5-4, over the Newport News Wranglers at Wranglers Stadium.
"Who knows how long it will go on?" Newport News manager Chris Rice said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Javy Perez singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
For the season, Perez has hit .346 with 7 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 55 games and scored 41 times.
