It was a good day for the Super Troopers at Car Ramrod Park as they clipped the Spring Park Green Knights, 16-8. It was tremendous day for Doug Wagner, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-6.
"I don't know what to call that," the Santa Barbara second baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Doug Wagner singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Looking at his stats this year, Wagner has compiled a .393 batting average, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 48 runs. He has played in 46 games and scored 53 runs.
