Tuesday, May 27th , 2025
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Missions-Fighting Knights game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Montgomery right fielder Edgar Ramos thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Montgomery to a win, 14-1, over Niskayuna.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Ramos said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Ramos, who is tied for 4th in the SL2 in home runs with 11, was 4-for-4 on the day with 5 RBI.
Edgar Ramos hit a solo-shot off Zaijiro Watanabe in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Danny Ramirez in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Alex Ruiz in the 8th.
This season, Ramos has posted a batting average of .389 with 44 hits in 113 at-bats, 11 home runs and 35 RBIs. He has also scored 29 runs, walked 22 times and compiled a .489 OBP.
