Thompson Socks It to Hex, Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, May 24th , 2025 It was a parade of hits for Mark Thompson of the Ottawa Lynx at Ballpark of Providence. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Thompson finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Lynx to a win, 10-7. "Thompson was really good and we were really bad," groaned Hex manager Dave Hale. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Mark Thompson doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Frank Rivera in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season, Thompson has posted a batting average of .383 with 64 hits in 167 at-bats, 9 home runs and 31 RBIs. He has also scored 42 runs, walked 22 times and compiled a .456 OBP.
