Retana Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games
Saturday, May 3rd , 2025
The Julian Jammers may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 16-2, to the Providence Hex, but Edwin Retana continued to hit like a god.
The second baseman collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"Retana is playing great and is on fire right now," Jammers manager Cameron Pabst said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Retana was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Edwin Retana hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd and grounded out in the 5th.
For the season, Retana is hitting at a .431 clip with 6 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 20 runs. He has 44 hits, 6 walks and a .468 on-base percentage.
