Providence-Little Rock Fight Results in Suspensions
Wednesday, May 20th , 2026
If there wasn't a history between Hector Mejia of Providence and Pedro Garza of Little Rock, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 2 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Mejia said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
So far this season, Mejia has recorded a .270 batting average with 10 hits, 1 home run, 4 RBIs, 5 runs scored and a .349 OBP.
For the season, Garza has made 3 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 3.60 ERA. In pitching 15 innings, he has totaled 10 strikeouts and 3 walks.
