Jacobi Belts 5 Hits Tuesday, March 31st , 2026 The Central Arizona College Vaqueros stopped the Santa Fe College Saints by a score of 14-7 at McSwain Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Tom Jacobi. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Jacobi said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Jacobi did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Saints. "Not much that I can say," offered Santa Fe College manager Mike Fisher. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Tom Jacobi singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Murray in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. In the 2026 season Jacobi is hitting .474 with 2 home runs. |
