Brent Mallinson took ABA Junior College by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 19.

For his spectacular campaign, the Cowley County Community College Tigers star has been named the 2023 ABA Junior College Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the left fielder.

On the season he compiled a .430 batting average to go with a .515 on-base percentage. The native of Fredonia, Kansas also added 19 doubles, 1 triple, 17 home runs, 54 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mike Shabazian of the Santa Fe College Saints finished second in voting, while Chris Alexander of the Cowley County Community College Tigers finished third.
