O'Brien Keeps Hit Streak Alive Thursday, April 25th , 2024 Win or lose, Casey O'Brien just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Villa Park High School Spartans first baseman went 2-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 15-6, by the Lake Travis High School Cavaliers at Cavalier Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Casey O'Brien hit a solo-shot off Ryan Brems in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. On the season, O'Brien is batting .400 with 19 home runs and 38 RBIs. He has played in 31 games. |
