Panthers Move on to Round 3

Larry McGlauflin wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Round 2 MVP.

The star's Parkview High School Panthers defeated the De La Salle High School Spartans by a series score of 4-1 to advance to the Round 3.

Parkview High School won the final game by a 7-5 count in front of a raucous crowd at Hugh Buchanan Field.

McGlauflin hit .556 with a .636 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 5 home runs, driving in 10 RBI and scoring 8 runs.

"Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said McGlauflin.

The Parkview High School Panthers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Woodstock High School Wolverines - Marcus High School Marauders series. Marcus High School leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.

Larry McGlauflin was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 19-1 Parkview High School Panthers triumph at Hugh Buchanan Field.

The 14-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Panthers past the De La Salle High School Spartans.

"One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," McGlauflin told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate."

The shortstop went 4-for-5, rung up 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day.

Larry McGlauflin singled in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Kevin Harris in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Earl Rushton in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Tom Feary in the 7th and grounded out in the 7th.

So far this season, McGlauflin is hitting .358 with 13 home runs.
