But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Doral Academy Firebirds fell to the Panthers, 13-11. In his big day at Doral Academy Baseball Complex, the Doral Academy third baseman went 4-for-5 with 6 RBIs and scored 4 times. "It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day." Leo Carballo hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Victor Amaya in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Steve Butler in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Dustin Wiseman in the 8th. Carballo's current batting average stands at .330 and he has chalked up 11 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
