Sullivan Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games
Thursday, April 18th , 2024
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Brent Sullivan did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Etowah Baseball Field. For the last 20 games in a row, the 16-year-old catcher has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Etowah High School Eagles beat the North Oconee High School Titans, 8-7.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Sullivan told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Etowah High School clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Brent Sullivan singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
Looking at his stats this year, Sullivan has compiled a .384 batting average, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 16 runs. He has played in 22 games and scored 14 runs.
