Hruska Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games
Tuesday, May 5th , 2026
The Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 9-5, to the Lowndes High School Vikings, but Ross Hruska continued to hit like a god.
The second baseman collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.
"Hruska is playing great and is on fire right now," Pirates manager Andres Teran said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Hruska was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Ross Hruska flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
Thus far this season in 33 games, Hruska is batting .348 with 11 home runs, 27 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 46 hits in 132 at-bats.
