Dieterich Tags Knights for 5 Hits
Saturday, May 2nd , 2026
Dan Dieterich was at the head of a Ray High School Texans hit parade at Notre Dame Stadium. The 17-year-old went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Notre Dame High School Knights that marched off with the 13-7 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Texans skipper Miguel Isiordia following the game. "Dan did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Dieterich did more than fine, dominating the Knights at the plate during his record-making 5-for-6 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging third baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Dan Dieterich singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Dieterich has a .312 average and a .382 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 44 hits, 5 home runs and driven in 9 runs.
