Big Bang! 3 HR for St. Johns Country Day High School's Franklin Saturday, May 2nd , 2026 Jerry Franklin went on an explosive hitting spree against the Loganville High School Red Devils at St. Johns Country Day High School Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the St. Johns Country Day High School Spartans win, 11-5. The center fielder finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 3 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Franklin said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Loganville High School skipper Robbie Alpers said Franklin was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Jerry Franklin hit a solo-shot off Lee Patten in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Lee Patten in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Lee Patten in the 6th and flied out in the 7th. This season, Franklin is hitting .267 with 36 hits, 8 home runs, 21 RBIs, scored 19 runs and played in 35 games. |
