Big Day for Cardiello: Swats 5 Hits Saturday, April 6th , 2024 Bill Cardiello told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Cardiello of the Tomball High School Cougars did against the Etiwanda High School Eagles. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a defeat, 6-5. "Not much I can say," offered Cardiello in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Bill Cardiello tripled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Looking at his present stats, Cardiello has compiled a .286 batting average in 16 games with a .370 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 9 runs. |
