Bombs Away: Williams Slams 4 Homers
Tuesday, April 28th , 2026
Even 4 home runs was not enough for the Georgetown High School Eagles.
The Eagles wasted a history-making game from left fielder Avery Williams, coming out on the wrong end of an unlikely 16-12 Taravella High School Trojans victory. Williams put on a massive display of power against Taravella High School, smashing 4 home runs in 6 at-bats.
"There have been a few times when I consciously tried to hit one out," said Williams, "but it doesn't often work. Well, it worked today for the last one. I guess this day was just meant to be. I just wished it had included a win."
The Georgetown High School left fielder went 4-for-6, had 7 RBIs, and scored 4 times in the game.
"That guy was basically unstoppable today," Trojans manager Steve Sepulbeda said later. "Thankfully, it's a team sport."
Avery Williams hit a solo-shot off Brian Gilbert in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Brian Gilbert in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and grounded out in the 8th.
To date Williams has chalked up a .387 average with 26 home runs, driven in 53 runs and scored 30 times.
