Pope High School Snaps Tatum Streak at 26 Tuesday, April 21st , 2026 The Sinton High School Pirates lost to the Pope High School Greyhounds, 8-6, at Sinton Pirates Baseball Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Chad Tatum's 26-game hitting streak. The shortstop went 0-for-2 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Tatum, we would win the game," Greyhounds manager Miguel Frausto explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Tatum is currently hitting at a .408 pace with 11 home runs and 26 RBIs. |
