Fortin Goes Yard 3 Times Wednesday, May 31st , 2023 Woodstock High School Wolverines first baseman Tim Fortin put on a dazzling display of power at Hugh Buchanan Field against the Parkview High School Panthers. In the 13-11 Wolverines victory, Fortin penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Parkview High School manager Wade Lucas said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 14-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Fortin said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Tim Fortin hit a solo-shot off Jeff Moylan in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Mike McDonough in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Danny Wilkinson in the 9th. This season, Fortin is batting .375 with 8 home runs. He has scored 26 runs and driven in 23. |
