Marauders Heading to Round 2 Monday, May 15th , 2023 The fans in Marcus High School are celebrating the Marauders victory over the Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers in the Round 1. They defeated the Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers 6-1 in the finale played at Marcus Marauder Baseball Field to capture the series 4-2. Travis Lockridge was chosen the series' Most Valuable Player. The Marauders center fielder batted .448, drove in 8 runs and scored 2 runs in the series. "The Buccaneers are a good club and I don't mean any disrespect to their pitching staff, but things just felt easy this series," Lockridge said. "Everything at the plate seemed right." The Marcus High School Marauders don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Woodstock High School Wolverines - Allatoona High School Buccaneers series. Woodstock High School leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
