Panthers Move on to Round 2 Saturday, May 13th , 2023 Sam Holcomb sparked his Parkview High School Panthers past the pesky Cypress High School Centurions in a closely-contested Round 1. Parkview High School topped Cypress High School 8-3 at Hugh Buchanan Field to decide the series, 4-1 For his efforts, Holcomb was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .400 batting average, 6 RBIs and 7 runs scored. "You never want to leave anything on the field," Holcomb said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win." The Parkview High School Panthers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the De La Salle High School Spartans - Taravella High School Trojans series. Taravella High School leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
