Porter Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Thursday, April 11th , 2024 No matter what the St. Catharines Blue Jays threw at him, Ben Porter hit it. He easily handled Blue Jays pitching, going 5 for 7 and helping the Jet Hawks triumph, 25-4, at Jet Hawks Ballpark. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Porter's quip, Blue Jays skipper Freddy Coss said he "would take him up on that next time." Ben Porter singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Chris Yarbrough in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
