N-A Premier Player Picked Monday, September 2nd , 2024 Newark fans have something to crow about today as Newark third baseman Joaquin Gomez nabbed the Northern A Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Gomez. He posted a .480 average (12-for-25) this past week with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. In 97 games this year, Gomez has posted a .303 average and put up these numbers: 14 home runs, 61 RBIs and 45 runs scored. |
