The Louisville Sweepers reliever sustained a season-ending injury against the Long Beach Keys and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Wheeler was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and stated that he would not be able to play for 9 months. Over the season, Wheeler has made 7 relief appearances with 1 save.
