Brand Cracks 3 HR for Millionaires
Monday, April 15th , 2024
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Washington Wildthings.
Alcoa third baseman Josh Brand tripled up on the home runs to propel the Millionaires to a win, 17-6, at Alcoa Grounds.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Washington manager Danny Sanchez said. "Brand hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Brand collected 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 9 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Josh Brand hit a solo-shot off Ray Clark in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
For the year, Brand has hit at a .500 clip with 12 RBIs, 5 home runs and 6 runs scored.
