Corpus Christi's Bendon Takes Best Pitcher Prize Saturday, October 25th , 2025 Chad Bendon of the Corpus Christi Mermen might be an old man, but he can still pitch with the best of them. Today the 38-year-old hurler snagged the Eastern AA Pitcher of the Year Award honors for his outstanding 2025 performance. He posted a 2.40 ERA with 17 wins, 7 losses, 171 strikeouts and 29 walks in 191.1 innings. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 24. Josh Monroe of the Riverside Rotters finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Dan Woods of the Riverside Rotters finished third with 2 first place votes.
