Augusta Takes Division Series in Deciding Game Sunday, September 17th , 2023 With a narrow 4-3 series win, the Augusta Capitols have eliminated the Hamilton Bulldogs and are Division Series winners. "We tried not to look ahead to the League Championship Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said second baseman Eric Carpenter, who was named series MVP. Augusta won the final game by a score of 5-0, wrapping it up at The Capitol Dome. Carpenter's big series saw him hit .318 with a .318 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Augusta Capitols will play against the London Tigers in the next round. London won their series against the Sonoma Scorpions 4 games to 2.
