Gallant Batters Stockton Big Time Wednesday, August 21st , 2024 Cornwall Royals left fielder Mike Gallant had a day to remember at King George Park, ripping apart the Stockton Ragin Cajuns and sparking the 7-5 Royals win. Gallant wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Gallant told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Mike Gallant singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
