Week's Top Performer Honored by E-AA Monday, August 19th , 2024 Encinitas fans have something to crow about today as Encinitas catcher Dan Tillery nabbed the Eastern AA Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Tillery. He posted a .409 average (9-for-22) this past week with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. This year, Tillery is batting .322 with 126 hits and 30 home runs. He has scored 88 times and has batted in 89 runs. |
