3 Boomers for Tillery Friday, August 16th , 2024 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Red Barons Ballpark were taking cover all day long as Dan Tillery zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Encinitas catcher helped the Eskimo Brothers take the victory, 12-2, over the Washington Wildthings. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 6 and scored 3 runs. Dan Tillery struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chris Gibbons in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Hodgins in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. Thus far this season in 97 games, Tillery is batting .323 with 30 home runs, 89 RBIs and 88 runs scored. He has 125 hits in 387 at-bats. |
