Vermont-Sonoma Fight Results in Suspensions Tuesday, May 27th , 2025 Yesterday at Emeralds Ballpark Doug Joseph and Greg Ricketts got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Vermont Milkmen and Sonoma Scorpions. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Joseph will have to sit out 4 while Ricketts would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Ricketts has taken the mound for 10 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-0 record with a 8.22 ERA. The Sonoma reliever has limited opposing batters to a .327 batting average. |
