Eskimo Brothers End DeWitt Streak Wednesday, May 31st , 2023 Mike DeWitt, third baseman for the Riverside Rotters, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers. Not only did the Eskimo Brothers break his 23-game hitting streak, they also beat Riverside by the score of 4-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," DeWitt said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This season, DeWitt has 18 home runs and a .329 batting average. |
