Marquez Hits 3 Homers Against Vermont Sunday, May 14th , 2023 Sonoma Scorpions center fielder Felipe Marquez had a magnificent game against the Vermont Milkmen, rocketing three balls out of Emeralds Ballpark to help the Scorpions win, 11-4. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Marquez went 4-for-6 with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Sonoma manager Justin Watts said later. "Seems like Felipe found his home run stroke today." Felipe Marquez hit a solo-shot off Ricky Garay in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ricky Garay in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Andrew Rogers in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. To date this season, Marquez is hitting .357 with 3 home runs. |
