Westwood's Thomas Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Friday, April 12th , 2024
The Westwood Bruins stopped the Dillonvale Indians by a score of 28-0 at Jackie Robinson Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Tony Thomas. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Thomas said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Thomas did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Indians.
"Not much that I can say," offered Dillonvale manager Armando Cisneros. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Tony Thomas tripled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
