Reisinger Belts 5 Hits

Thanks to Dave Reisinger and his big bat, the Marshalls derailed the Laredo Ghosts, 18-3, at Hedgehogs Park. The Fremont center fielder had a standout game with 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Dave Reisinger doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
At present, Reisinger is batting .347 with 68 hits and 2 home runs. He has knocked in 23 runs and scored 29 times.

Quebec's Stoddard Sidelined for Season

The season is apparently over for Chris Stoddard. The Quebec Fighting Quakers medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 4-5 months with shoulder inflammation. Stoddard was hurt in the game against Ann Arbor while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
On the season, Stoddard has a 0-0 record with a 5.01 ERA.

Villarreal Befuddles Hartford in 6-0 El Paso Win

Magic was in the air and on the mound at Ballpark of Tacoma, as Lorenzo Villarreal held the Hartford Matadors spellbound in his 6-0 shutout victory. The El Paso Chupacabras pitcher went the distance, rang up 4 strikeouts, walked 3, and held the Matadors to 7 hits.
"He just had us in his thrall," Hartford manager Jesse Heugly said. "We couldn't put anything together against him."
In 12 starts this season, Villarreal has picked up 6 wins while suffering 4 losses. He has pitched 89.1 innings, allowed 72 hits, struck out 78 and posted a 2.42 ERA.
