Best SC Reliever Named Monday, October 20th , 2025 Cory Newton said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 25 years old. But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Fremont Marshalls rising star has won the Stars Conference Reliever of the Year Award for 2025. He captured the award on the strength of his 1.17 ERA over 61.1 innings. He also had 2 saves in 41 relief appearances, 69 strikeouts and only 17 walks. He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 24. Jay Waltman of the Montreal Royals finished second in voting, while Joel Racinowski of the Nashville Lasers finished third with 2 first place votes.
