Montreal Defeats Hickory Thursday, October 9th , 2025 The Montreal Royals ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Hickory Crawdads 5-1 to win the World Series. Montreal won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 2nd time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Montreal manager Bobby White. "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 77-67 and claimed third place in the Stars Conference East Division. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and third baseman Jim Mann said the Royals have "great fans and they deserve this." "I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
