SC Star of the Week Picked Monday, September 2nd , 2024 When it came to hitting the baseball, Donovan Widmer was in a class by himself in the Stars Conference this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding second baseman for Glendale tagged opposing pitchers for a .429 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 12 hits in 28 at-bats, 2 homers, 8 runs scored and 6 RBIs. This season, Widmer is swinging the bat at a .217 rate with 55 hits in 253 at-bats. To date he has hit 5 home runs, scored 35 runs and driven in 17. |
