New Rochelle Halts Boone's Hitting Steak Saturday, August 31st , 2024 The hitting streak that Westwood shortstop Ryan Boone had kept going for 20 games was ended by the New Rochelle Purple Wave. Boone was stymied over 3 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 5-1 victory at Jackie Robinson Stadium. "Hitting streaks come and go," Boone said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." On the season, Boone is batting .362 with 3 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 34 games. |
