Villapando Tags 3 HR Against Aces Wednesday, September 13th , 2023 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Javy Villapando did at Field of the Muskies, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 9-8. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Villapando said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Glendale Muskies first baseman blistered the Quebec Aces for 3 hits, batted in 3 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Quebec manager Matt Blade said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Javy Villapando hit a solo-shot off Jose Ceballos in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jose Ceballos in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off R.J. Lawhead in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, struck out in the 13th and grounded out in the 16th. Thus far this season, Villapando has hit .209 with 25 home runs, 59 RBIs and scored 68 times. |
